Patagonia overlanding custom trip itinerary:
Day 1 - Buenos Aires:
Arrival at Buenos Aires airport. Private transfer to the city center, 1 overnight stay at Algodón Mansion boutique hotel in Recoleta (Recoleta suite). In the afternoon 4 hours City tour through the township of Buenos Aires, which is the Federal District of the Republic of Argentina and the most important cosmopolitan urban center in the country. Popularly known as the "Queen of the Río de la Plata", the city is recognized because of the varied artistic expressions that surprises tourists with various monuments, wall paintings, galleries and art museums. The tour includes visiting 9 de Julio Avenue and the Obelisk – symbol of the city - , the historic Plaza de Mayo, the Government House, best known as the "Pink House" which is the seat of the Executive Branch, the Cabildo and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Southwards, we reach the picturesque and colorful port neighborhood of La Boca with its famous street, "Caminito". The visit continues towards San Telmo one of the oldest neighborhoods in Buenos Aires, the modern Puerto Madero neighborhood, and Recoleta, the most sophisticate neighborhood in Buenos Aires . The Recoleta Cemetery surprises the visitor with its location, and the producers and radios set are place there. The distinguishing features of this area are the coffee shops and the first quality restaurants -international, ethnic and signature cuisine. At the end of the journey, you'll visit a fair in the Metropolitan Design Center. A place, where hundreds of creative shops are exhibiting their products .
Day 2 -
Buenos Aires – El Calafate -El Chaltén:
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport and fligth to El Calafate (AR1694/12:25-15:45). Reception of a hired car and drive to the North along the legendary Ruta 40 to El Chaltén. This brand new site is the starting point of all expeditions to the renowned peaks of Fitz Roy and Torre.

Drive distance: 220 km on paved road.
Day 3 - El Chaltén:
Breakfast. Hiking on your own to Laguna de los Tres, at the foot of Cerro Fitz Roy, the most famous peak of the southern - patagonian Andes. For three hours we wander through wonderful forest and mountain landscapes until we reach the base camp Rio Blanco, with Cerro Fitz Roy and neighbouring granite peaks always in sight. We then set out on a continuous and steep one-hour climb up the moraine until we reach Laguna de los Tres, directly in front of Cerro Fitz Roy, a grandiose observation point of the impressive Fitz Roy. Easy 7-8 hour hiking, which may also be interrupted after a maximum of 2 hours hiking, specially considering that from this point on hikers will be feasted with incredible panoramas of the mountains.
Overnight stay same as previous day. (B)
Other option: Breakfast. Hiking on your own to Laguna Torre, at the foot of legendary Cerro Torre, one of the most demanding mountaineering targets worldwide. Its 1400m high steep walls of flat granite are proof of this, the climate being the main factor, which is why mountaineers must often wait for months before the final assault can be made. The suggested hike extends only to Laguna Torre which lies directly at the foot of the mountain. From here one has breathtaking views of a series of windswept granite needles and huge glaciers. Easy 5-6 hour hike. This stretch may also be interrupted after one and a half hours at a first viewing spot.
Day 4 - El Calafate:
In the morning return to El Calafate, also called "The capital of the Glaciers". 2 overnight stays & full board at the Eolo lodge (superior), on the road to Moreno glacier. In the afternoon visit to the Perito Moreno glacier, unquestionably one of the greatest attractions Patagonia can offer. From terrace vantage points directly opposite the glacier face, one can observe the thundering breaking off of ice blocks crashing down into the waters of the vast Lago Argentino below. The attractive Perito Moreno glacier with its imposing front wall of 197 ft and 2,5 ml length. Huge ice chunks fall off the front wall and drop thundering into the crystalline waters. (B/L/D) .

Day 5 - El Calafate - Upsala Glacier - Estancia Cristina:
Breakfast. Short drive to Puerto Bandera. Full day boat excursion (SIB based) departing from the hotel to Puerto Bandera, and sailing the Northern branch of Argentino lake, sailing among icebergs and stunning scenery overlooking the western front of the Upsala glacier and then through Cristina Canal to the point of disembark at the Estancia. Arrival Estancia Cristina 11:30 hs. Stay at the Estancia for 6 hours. Guided visit to the Costumbrista museum (old shearing shed). Ascent in all-terrain vehicles, travelling 9.5 km through mountainous roads. Arrival to the Continental ice shelter. 30 minute walk. Visit the oriental front of Upsala Glacier. Lake Guillermo, Southern Patagonian Ice and Andes. Return to the farm house of the Estancia, lunch and board at 17:30 hs. Arrival to Puerto Banderas at 19: hs approx. (B/L/D) .

Day 6 - National Park Torres del Paine - Chile:
Breakfast. Drive via Cerro Castillo to Chile and National Park Torres del Paine. As the region of the Fitz Roy, this park belongs to the culminate points that Patagonia can offer you. The Paine massif is the most impressive mountain wilderness region in the Patagonian Andes, breathtaking rock spires, tumbling glaciers, milky green lakes, beech forest and windswept grasslands, which supports an amazing variety of geese, ducks and black necked swans, guanacos, foxes and nandús and everywhere in mountains an incredible variety of birds.

Drive distance: 280 kms paved and 45 kms gravel road.
Day 7 National Park Torres del Paine - Chile:
Breakfast. Day free to make a trekking on your own to the base of the "Torres", following the valley of the Ascencio river until the base camp, then a last section upwards until the lagoon located on the foot of the towers. 6-8 hours walk of intermediate level, on well marked and frequented footpaths. Drive through the park, first to the lookout of Salto Grande, with unforgettable views of the Paine Horns, the "cuernos" and the Paine Massif, then heading on to Lago Pehoé and Nordenskjöld. (B)
8 Puerto Natales - Punta Arenas:
Breakfast. Drive Southwards via Puerto Natales to Punta Arenas. 1 overnight stay at Rey Don Felipe hotel (standard). .(B)
Drive distance: 65 kms gravel road and 270 kms paved.
Day 9 - Punta Arenas:
Car returned at Comapa office in Magallanes street 990. Check in from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m., embark the Expedition Cruise Ship Stella Australis. The Captain and crew will give a welcome cocktail reception on board. Immediately afterward, the ship will set sail for the "uttermost part of the earth." Through the mythical Strait of Magellan, we will travel to Southern Patagonia, including Tierra de Fuego. This is the beginning of a Great Adventure (B/L/D).
10 Chilean fjords:
During the dawn's early light, our ship will continue navigating through Almirantazgo Inlet, until arriving near Marinelli Glacier in Ainsworth Bay, where we will enjoy a walk to discover a beaver dam in the midst of a marvelous Magellanic forest. On the beach we will observe a colony of Elephant Seals. Continuing the voyage, we will visit Tucker Islet, where we will sight colonies of Magellanic penguins and Cormorants from the Zodiac boats. Day 11 Beagle Channel:
We will navigate the main part of the Beagle Channel to enter Pia Bay and disembark near the glacier of the same name. We will take an excursion to a look-out point that is ideal for viewing the mountain range where the glacier originates, and its flow all the way to the sea. After this unforgettable experience, we will sail again along the northwest arm of the Beagle Channel through majestic "Glacier Alley": Spain, Romanche, Germany, Italy, France and Holland glaciers. Day 12 Cape Horn National Park - Puerto Wiliams:
We will sail through the Beagle and Murray Channels to disembark in Cape Horn National Park (weather permitting). Cape Horn, a sheer, almost 425-meter-high promontory, where the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean merge. In the afternoon, we will disembark in Puerto Williams, the southernmost town in the world, where you can take optional excursions, such as the visit to Martin Gusinde Museum or to take part in one trekking to the La Bandera hill. Day 13 Ushuaia:
Arrival to Ushuaia, the most important Argentine city in Tierra de Fuego, and the southernmost city in the world. Disembark at 8:00 a.m., enabling you to visit Tierra del Fuego National Park down to Lapataia Bay, end point of the long Pan-American Highway. In this untouched and wild nature of Tierra del Fuego, one encounters countless wild geese, cormorants and other fauna. 1 overnight stay at Los Cauquenes hotel (superior view Beagle channel). (B).
Day 14 - Ushuaia - Buenos Aires:
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport, flight to Buenos Aires (AR1879/9:45-13:13), private transfer to the city center, 1 overnight stay at Algodón Mansion boutique hotel. Farewell dinner at famous gourmet restaurant La Bourgogne. (B/-/D)
Day 15 - Buenos Aires:
Transfer to the international airport, departure flight. (B). End of our services.
